LITIV Inc., the company behind the amateur basketball game analysis and sharing platform 'BASTAT', announced on January 3rd that it has successfully closed its seed funding round led by accelerator Y&Archer.
According to the company, LITIV provides its BASTAT service to a wide range of teams in need of basketball game data, from elite squads in the K-Division 2 through 5 leagues to amateur basketball clubs.
BASTAT users can receive highlight videos of their own games through the platform. The service offers both real-time and post-game stat-tracking features, allowing users to select the function that best suits their needs.
Furthermore, LITIV plans to provide large-scale training data for Vision Language Models (VLMs) tailored for basketball analysis. The company anticipates this will position them as a key data provider for amateur and youth teams that lack the resources to conduct large-scale data analysis on their own.
An official involved in the investment round commented, "As the sports platform market grows, the sports tech sector continues to expand. Given this market outlook and LITIV's outstanding team and unparalleled technical capabilities, we have high expectations for their significant growth in the sports market ahead."
Jihun Kim, CEO of LITIV, stated, "Creating sports data has always been a cumbersome and costly process, making it an exclusive asset for professionals. We created BASTAT to empower everyone—from amateur enthusiasts to youth athletes dreaming of going pro—to easily and affordably own their sports data."
He added, "Amateur players can get automatically generated highlight clips just by playing a game at a BASTAT-equipped gym. Meanwhile, tournament organizers and coaching staff can replace traditional paper score sheets with the BASTAT platform, receiving advanced, video-linked stats automatically."
LITIV announced that it will use the new funding to advance its application services and accelerate its marketing strategy to forge partnerships with more amateur basketball teams and sports venues.
